Shapovalov and Pospisil Fall to Indian Pair

Canada's Denis Shapovalov and Vasek Pospisil were eliminated from the U.S. Open doubles tournament on Friday, losing to India's Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan in the first round.

The Canadian duo, who were seeded 13th, fell in straight sets 6-4, 7-5 to the unseeded Indian pair.

Missed Opportunities

Shapovalov and Pospisil had a chance to force a third set, but they were unable to convert on three break points in the 10th game of the second set.

The loss marks the end of Shapovalov's U.S. Open campaign. He was also eliminated in the first round of the singles tournament.
