2022 International Booker Prize Shortlist Announced

Six Novels in Contention for Prestigious Award

The full 2022 International Booker Prize shortlist has been announced, with six novels from around the world vying for the prestigious literary award. The shortlisted works include:

  • Cursed Bunny by Bora Chung, translated by Anton Hur
  • The Enlightenment of the Greengage Tree by Shokoofeh Azar, translated by Anonymous
  • Seven Empty Houses by Samanta Schweblin, translated by Megan McDowell
  • Tomb of Sand by Geetanjali Shree, translated by Daisy Rockwell
  • The Books of Jacob by Olga Tokarczuk, translated by Jennifer Croft
  • Happy Stories, Mostly by Norman Erikson Pasaribu, translated by Tiffany Tsao

Judging Panel Impressed by Diverse Range of Entries

The judging panel, chaired by Frank Wynne, praised the shortlisted works for their diversity and literary merit. "This year's shortlist showcases an extraordinary range of voices and perspectives from around the world," Wynne said. "Each of these novels is a testament to the power and resilience of storytelling."

The winner of the 2022 International Booker Prize will be announced on May 26th.
